STUDIO POLICIES & CODE OF CONDUCT

STUDIO POLICIES & CODE OF CONDUCT

PIVOT Dance Emporium LLC
Last Updated: August 13, 2026

PIVOT Dance Emporium is committed to providing an adult dance environment where people can learn, practice, socialize, and enjoy dance while treating one another with respect.

Respectful Conduct

Students, guests, instructors, staff, performers, and visitors are expected to treat others respectfully.

Harassment, intimidation, threats, bullying, discriminatory harassment, unwanted sexual behavior, or deliberately disruptive conduct is not acceptable.

Consent in Partner Dancing

Partner dancing involves physical interaction. Consent and respect for personal boundaries are essential.

Participants may:

  • Decline an invitation to dance;
  • End a dance at any time;
  • Request an adjustment in dance position or physical contact;
  • Decline dips, tricks, lifts, close-embrace positions, or other movements; and
  • Communicate personal boundaries without being required to justify them.

A person's decision to decline or stop dancing must be respected.

Consent to one dance, movement, or type of physical contact does not imply consent to another.

Safe Dancing

Participants should dance in a manner appropriate to their experience, surroundings, and partner.

Do not intentionally perform dangerous movements, lifts, dips, tricks, or other movements with a partner who has not agreed to them or where the environment is unsuitable.

Participants should remain aware of other dancers and floor conditions.

Instructor and Staff Directions

Participants must follow reasonable safety and operational instructions from PIVOT staff and instructors.

Alcohol and Impairment

Participants must not engage in dance activities when impairment creates an unreasonable safety risk to themselves or others.

Disruptive or unsafe behavior associated with alcohol or other substances may result in removal.

Personal Belongings

Participants are responsible for their personal property.

PIVOT is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded.

Recording

Photography or recording must comply with PIVOT's Photo & Video Policy and any instructions provided for the particular class or event.

Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness conduct that raises a safety or harassment concern, please report it to a PIVOT staff member or contact:

info@pivotdancemporium.com

Reports will be handled as reasonably and appropriately as circumstances permit.

Absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed when investigation or action is necessary.

Enforcement

Depending on the circumstances, PIVOT may:

  • Provide a warning;
  • Require conduct to stop;
  • Remove someone from a class or event;
  • Restrict participation;
  • Suspend or terminate membership or studio privileges; or
  • Take other reasonable action to protect participants and the studio.

PIVOT may contact emergency services or law enforcement when reasonably appropriate.
